Strategic Systems & Technology Corporation incorporated in Coral Springs, Florida, on November 2, 1999. With decades of data collection experience between them, co-founders Magan McQuiston Bissonnette, CEO, and Richard Bissonnette, president, were committed to providing cost-effective solutions for businesses of all sizes. They developed relationships with industry-leading hardware manufacturers and deployed third-party software solutions, and soon secured their first government contract, the State of Florida. Strategic Systems was - and still is - responsible for providing barcode scanners, mobile devices, and printers to the 67 County Health Departments and several additional state agencies.
Recognizing the deficiencies of many of the software packages that were available at the time, however, Rick and Magan quickly determined to invest in their own in-house software development team to better serve their customers’ application-specific needs. In 2000, Strategic Systems released its first packaged product offering, the Strategic Asset Tracking System (SATS). From there, Strategic System’s software offerings increased, with both package and custom development representing increasingly large percentages of the business, even as its hardware sales continued to thrive. In 2006, with a solid customer base expanding well beyond Florida, the company relocated to Atlanta.
As an early adopter of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology, Strategic Systems has distinguished itself among competitors with a deep understanding of the hardware, science, and software components needed for successful RFID deployments. The company’s flagship offering, StrategicRFID™, is a software platform that has been designed to accept input from multiple IoT technologies and transform them into meaningful data.
Today, Strategic Systems continues to build solutions that blend technological innovation with expertise in core business principles. The company has earned industry accolades and awards from its technology partners and customers alike, consistently maintaining the Premier Partner status that reflects its internal commitment to excellence.
