Health Department rolls out RFID Solution. Tuesday May 20, 2008 - As part of a major initiative to track county property, the Volusia County Health Department recently rolled out the Strategic RFID Asset Tracking System to all of it facilities. Using a combination of polyester and approved for metal surface RFID tags, the county has begun tagging fixed assets including computers, printers, projectors, furniture and medical equipment. To comply with county audit requirements, the county plans to take a periodic physical inventory by going from room to room in their facilities using Motorola MC9090 RFID readers to collect asset information. The solution is expected to reduce the amount of time it takes to complete an inventory by 50% or more. Related Information Strategic RFID Asset Tracking System
